Tourist Fatally Stabbed in Ao Nang, Krabi
On July 22, 2024, at approximately 2:00 AM, the Ao Nang Police Station received a report from the 191 Krabi Provincial Police Radio Center about a tourist being assaulted with a knife. Officers from Ao Nang Police Station, including duty officers and an investigative team, responded to the scene and found a male tourist who had been injured. The victim was transported to Vathanapat Hospital, Ao Nang, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was identified as Mr. Laim Michael Ross, an Australian national. The police apprehended Mr. Randall Owen Johnson, an American national and the victim’s friend, at the scene.
Initial investigations revealed that both the assailant and the victim were friends but had engaged in a heated argument, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, Mr. Randall Owen Johnson allegedly used a knife to fatally stab his friend. Police Lieutenant Chot Meephop conducted a thorough investigation at the scene and collected evidence to proceed with legal action.
